- the world is a huge paidia! when I’m not sure what to do I think about if it were a game what I would do: in games i do crazy things like risk my life for a beautiful gem - i hope this transfers to reality in a good way, and i have made so many decisions that have changed my life trajectory bc i think of it as a game

- spark conversations. there’s no one single time that i regretted initiating, either in game / reality. when a game steers plot when I talk to npcs i immediately know it is a good game. the activation energy to initiate conversation lowers so so much if you think of all the branches of storyline that would only unlock if u take that step.

- I have learned to love people/ things more profoundly bc I worked in gametech. the best games I’ve played have shaped how I sense/broadcast love bc it’s basically complementing ur live with things you can’t yet experience in this universe

- games provide players everything but the tutorial, and that’s the reason everybody arrives at different spots differently - it’s just cool

- attention. instead of creating the proxy for people to hack, the game should inspire people to reshape their reward function. eg duolinguo is def not a good language teacher bc the daily streak is the proxy. a good game should make people more conscious about spending/ allocating their attention.

- games could be anything and everything
